14 Sure Fire Ways to Help You Achieve Your Dreams
Have you noticed that some people just have a knack for getting things right? Why do those people seem to be swimming in a pool of success while others struggle just to stay afloat? The reality is that successful people don’t get that way by accident, they simply have the right mindset and they find and follow a process. It doesn’t matter if you dream of fame and fortune, or if you want to climb mountains, look and feel your best, or win at love; the recipe to success is made from a few simple ingredients. Here are 14 sure fire ways to help any one of us achieve our dreams.
- Your reason why. That deep seeded feeling inside you that is pushing you to change. It’s a feeling so strong that it sometimes drives you to tears. “I want to do this because…” And the only thing that will make this feeling go away is stepping outside of your comfort zone once and for alland pursuing it.
- Remind yourself of how you want to feel when you finally achieve your dream. And convince yourself that it’s possible. Your body is capable of many things, it’s your mind you have to convince.
- Set SMART goals. Once you have identified your why and can visualize how you will feel, it’s time to set a goal. A SMART goal is one that is Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely.
- Let the important people in your life let you know what you are trying to achieve and why. Ask them to help you stay accountable and to be there to celebrate in your successes.
- Create a vision board. A vision board is a constant visual reminder of your goal that will help to keep you motivated. Get creative and crafty with some poster board and pics from magazines that remind you of your dream, or you can even go high tech with it and create an online vision board through a website like dreamitalive.com.
- Include pictures of yourself and your family on your vision board. This will help to keep it realistic and keep you emotionally attached.
- Place your vision board somewhere where you will see it every day. Let it be a constant reminder of the good things that lie ahead.
- Pick different aspects of your life to set goals in such as family, love and relationships, faith, career, finances, education, etc. Set different goals for all the areas of your life that are most important to you.
- Break each goal down into small attainable steps. You may want to use a calendar, timeline or even set reminders to yourself on your smartphone to help keep you on track.
- Track your progress. Take a time out during set intervals of your journey to take a look at how far you’ve come. When you’re struggling and doubting yourself, reflecting on your journey can be a powerful motivator to keep you pushing through. Tracking your progress also helps to see the things that are working and maybe not working for you.
- Don’t be afraid to adjust. Sometimes even the best laid plans can go awry. The last thing your should do is throw in the towel. Instead, look for ways to adjust your method and keep moving forward.
- Slay the biggest dragon first. Choose the most difficult tasks each day and do them first. No only will this help you to avoid procrastination, but it will leave you with a sense of accomplishment all day long.
- Turn old bad habits into healthy ones. Look back and be honest with yourself about the things that held you back in the past, or that may have caused you pain and hardship. Remove toxic things, behaviors and people from your life. Let those things behind you, you’re not going back there.
- Reward yourself with each milestone!
