Green Beans Almondine
Green beans almondine is a traditional family favorite. It’s delicious and quick and easy to make. This is the perfect side dish to make for a large holiday gathering or to take to a pot luck.
Serves 8-10
Ingredients
- 6 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 cup slivered almonds
- juice of 1/2 lemon
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Wash beans and drain them until dry.
- Toss green beans and 3 tbsp olive oil and place on baking pan. Beans should lay flat on the tray (they should not be piled up) then season with salt.
- Roast green beans in the oven for approximately 8 minutes or until they appear slightly browned.
- In a pan over medium high heat, add remaining oil, garlic and almonds, and sauté until the almonds turn a light golden brown color.
- Add lemon and green beans and sautè for one minute.
- Turn off the heat, transfer to a plate and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve immediately.
